Roadtrip 2016 Fall: Vancouver - Yakima - Bend - John Day River - Port Orford - Florence - Seaside - Vancouver

Day 12 - Bend to Port Orford

It's a busy steamy morning at Strictly.

Belching off a little noxious goo . Looks like it wants to run right over us - except those tie down straps look really well done up. Whew!

Yes, you've seen this character before - but we need to set the record straight. We previously reported that he resided in Chemult - turns out he's in Crescent - one town north.

We go above the snowline crossing the Cascades near Crater Lake. The snow must have been part of that crazy week of rain.

Caught.

On the other hand - trust no one.

Crossing the Cascades we get whacked with a crazy rain storm. Angry truck - drenching water - have we done somethng wrong today?

The only civilized respite point along this stretch of remote highway - the Steamboat Inn - they even claim fine dining and subscription is high. Everyone wants an excuse to get out of the rain..

We carry on and Russ scores us our second cuppa for the day from the Java Run coffee hut.

Speaking of rain, the good folks in Winston have built themselves an ark. In case Trump wins.

Wendy is considering this one.

For the second year in a row, we're at the Sandy Creek bridge.

This year's insane cheese collection. And we've already eaten some of it.
